UNIFORM STORMWATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM™

The Uniform Stormwater Management System (USMS™) is a 23-step, standardized, stormwater-targeted version of an Environmental Management System (EMS) that can be incorporated into a full ISO 14001 EMS program if needed.  The USMS™ translates NPDES regulations into a compliance program that is easy to understand and apply, and has been adopted by the Associated General Contractors (AGC) as THE standard for NPDES permit compliance.  It covers the continuum of NPDES Construction General Permit compliance from pre-construction planning and budgeting to permit termination.  The USMS™ provides the documentation and reporting needed to meet the new LEED 2009 BD&C Prerequisite #1 under Sustainable Sites.  Customizable to fit each operator’s geographical location and unique corporate culture, USMS™ has proven effective on hundreds of construction projects, large and small, across the United States.  SRM teaches consultants and SWPPP Managers to use the USMS™ through a train-the-trainer approach and provides them with all of the standardized systems and tools needed to identify areas in need of improvement and assure proper Permit compliance.
