Inspections/Audits

Stormwater Risk Management performs detailed and thorough monthly  oversight inspections and construction site reviews, using the 23-step Uniform Stormwater Management System (USMS™).   Services include:

  • Project baseline stormwater compliance audit, with detailed report of findings and recommendations to the project team.  Each baseline audit includes a comprehensive assessment of the Stormwater Management Plan and the project team’s pollution prevention plan.  The project team is offered recommended strategies to mitigate potential enforcement-related risks, reduce potential environmental impacts, and manage long-term compliance costs for the project.
  • Monthly initial and follow-up inspections through project completion/final stabilization, and permit inactivation
  • Online inspection report results provided to authorized project team members
  • Assessment of project team/jobsite performance, to include:
    • Conformance to required inspection process and procedures
    • Proper SWMP documentation and updates as required under state and local permits
    • Adherence to performance standards created by Western Summit
    • Adequate maintenance and installation of required BMPs necessary to sustain permit compliance and mitigate potential environmental impacts
    • Assist SWMP Administrator(s) with the proper execution of all systems and tools related to Western Summit compliance program and SRM software usage
    • Provide enforcement risk reduction recommendations and environmental risk management strategies to Western Summit
    • Provide recommendations for the most cost-effective best management practices available
    • Verification of proper sediment and erosion control installations
    • Follow-up verification of proper corrective actions needed to maintain permit compliance and environmental preservation
    • Update project-specific inspection system site maps to include the location of potential pollution sources and BMPs
  • Detailed project summary reports to the general contractor and all authorized project team members, outlining compliance performance over time to help build a documented track record of compliance improvement
  • Facilitation of contractor participation in the Water Quality Control Division’s Colorado Stormwater Excellence Program (CSEP)
