About Us
Stormwater Risk Management, LLC. (SRM) is an innovator in developing cost-effective approaches to managing the risks associated with storm water regulatory compliance in the construction and property development industries.
SRM is dedicated to creating mutually beneficial partnerships between the regulatory and construction communities to help achieve improved water quality.
In 2004, SRM developed a voluntary stormwater permit compliance system for general contractors that proved to be very effective. This system was adopted by Colorado’s Water Quality Control Division in 2005 as the foundation of the
Colorado Stormwater Excellence Program
(CSEP). In 2006, the CSEP gained national acclaim as a successful model for construction industry self-policing.
In 2007, SRM, in partnership with a leading east coast general contractor and Region 3 EPA, developed the Construction Industry Stormwater Excellence Program (CISEP) modeled after the documented success of the CSEP.

Recognition
SRM received a letter of recognition from the Environmental Protection Agency’s Catherine McCabe, Deputy Assistant Administrator, Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. In her letter, Ms. McCabe expresses her support for SRM’s Stormwater Excellence Program and states, “The program is a clear example of how we can work with industry to promote our common goal of compliance with the storm water regulatory requirements.”
Peter Truitt, Construction Industry Point-of-Contact, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, favorably featured Stormwater Risk Management’s and AGC’s Stormwater Excellence Program in an article he wrote for the Environmental Observer. In his article, Mr. Truitt points out that while participating companies are not immune from government inspections, general contractors can be confident “that you are on the road to full compliance, with documentation to prove it and with on-site assistance to help you get there.”
An ENR Top-20 construction company, and participant in Stormwater Risk Management’s Stormwater Excellence Program, was awarded the Environmental Protection Agency Mid-Atlantic Region’s 2008 Environmental Achievement Award in October 2008 for their superior Stormwater Permit compliance performance and industry leadership.
